The child support is determined by the court when resolving the issue about the parental rights. However, the amount of the support could be amended after the court case is over. The parent who is executing the parental rights is entitled to require from the Bulgarian court to increase the already determined support in case when the other parent has increased his or her incomes or there is a substantial change in the child `s needs. For that purpose a new court case must be initiated. The judge considers the parent's financial capacity according to the official documents for his incomes. The parents could seek for increasing of the amount of the child support in any time till the child reached 18 years old. Also, after the child reaches legal age the parents could be sued to pay support in case when the child is studying in High School.

After the parent obtains with a new court ruling for the increased child support he may seek for enforcement through a bailiff.
